Human Sister: A Fine Futuristic Novel plus a Seminar in the Not too Distant Future

I had the great pleasure of working a few years ago with Jim Bainbridge on his fine novel HUMAN SISTER, which is the fascinating story of a wonderful young heroine, Sara Jensen, who collaborates with her grandfather, an internationally renown expert on conscious artificial intelligence, to develop and raise a “bioroid” brother, Michael, who though an android is also able to access via a brain cord Sara’s thoughts and feelings, which are beautifully rendered and deeply human.  The personal story of Sara’s love for her endangered brother is set against a political world of the not too distant future, when the United States and China are out to destroy all conscious nonhumans, creating a nerve-wracking thriller in which Sara strives to protect Michael while also having to contend with the secrets and deceptions of those she loves.
